Terms of Service

The rules for using the CarLog app and this website, written to be easy to read.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of the CarLog mobile application (“CarLog”, “the app”) and this website. They are an agreement between you and the developer of CarLog (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app, or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or the website.

2. What CarLog provides

CarLog is a personal tool for recording vehicle refuelings and viewing calculated figures such as fuel consumption, costs and statistics. The app works with information you enter, which is stored on your device. How information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Permitted use

You may use CarLog for your personal, lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • use the app or website in a way that breaks applicable laws;
  • copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease the app, or reverse engineer it, except where the law expressly allows this;
  • interfere with or disrupt the website or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other notices.

4. Your responsibilities and safe use

Never use the app while driving. Enter refuelings only when your vehicle is safely parked. Always follow traffic laws and pay attention to the road.

You are responsible for your device, for keeping it secure, and for keeping your own backups or exports of data that matters to you. Data deleted in the app, or lost with your device, cannot be recovered by us because we do not hold a copy.

5. Accuracy of information

CarLog’s figures are calculated from the information you enter. Their accuracy depends on that information — for example odometer readings, amounts and prices — and on how consistently you record refuelings. Some values are estimates and are labelled as such.

The app’s figures are provided for personal reference only. They are not a professional measurement, an official record, or financial, tax or mechanical advice, and should not be relied on as such.

6. Intellectual property

The app, this website and their content, design, name and logo are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. The data you enter remains yours. Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC.

7. App stores

If you obtain CarLog through Google Play or another app store, that store’s terms also apply to your download and use. The store is not responsible for the app or for providing support for it.

8. Service availability and changes

We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the app or the website, or any feature, at any time. We do not guarantee that the app or website will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device or operating-system version.

9. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or the website. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Ending use

You can stop using CarLog at any time by uninstalling it. We may end or suspend your licence to use the app if you seriously breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue — such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability — continue to apply.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If you continue to use the app or website after an update takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
